Forms in Bootstrap

Introduction to Forms

With the help of Bootstrap its really easy to make form with the simple HTML markup and extended classes for different styles of Forms like: Vertical (default) Form, Inline Form, Horizontal Form.

Basic/Vertical Form

Basic Forms automatically receive data from default universal styling. It takes default value for <input>, <textarea>, and <select> elements with. form-control are set to width: 100%; and Wrap labels and controls in .form-group for optimum spacing.

Inline Form

To have Inline form one has to add .form-inline to your <form> for left-aligned and inline-block control. Inline applies to form which have viewport at least 768px wide.

Default size for inputs, selects and textarea are 100% wide to use it in Inline form one has to set the width for these Controls. .sr-only class is used to hide labels in Inline Forms.

Horizontal Form

To create Horizontal From .form-horizontal Class is used which applies to the parent <form> Elements.

Adding that class .form-groups to behave as grid rows, so there is no need for .row. Add a class of .control-label to the labels.
